Golf Golf Stories

Back From the Abyss

Howdy! It has been some time and quite frankly I have missed putting pen to paper or, more accurately, fingers to keyboard!

As I reflect on our previous one-hundred and fifty consecutive weekly Bad Golf Guy posts…well, I had an absolute blast sharing my golfing adventures/mishaps as well as stories about our family and friends!

During our first eighty or so posts, I was working full-time; with a real job, assisting my buddy (Kevin) coach High School Boys’ Varsity Basketball while simultaneously carving out time for my beloved cronies; barley and hops!

As time wore on, oddly enough in retirement, with ample free-time, the self-imposed pressure of a thoughtful weekly post became somewhat less appealing. We elected to “close up shop” in July of 2020 with our final post; “The Final Furlong”.

Well, with your permission, we would like to give it another go sans the pressure of a weekly commitment while continuing to embrace my above-mentioned cronies.

Our intentions are as follows (lessons learned):

  • To get to the point
  • To seek funny/interesting
  • To minimize technical content (i.e., The World Handicap System)
  • To post an article every four to six weeks

Our next Bad Golf Guy post will land in late November or early December.

Thank you for following Bad Golf Guy!

The back nine can only get better!
